OpenText Database Activity Monitoring, part of the OpenText Voltage Data Security Platform, monitors databases in real time and generates alerts on policy violations related to data manipulation, schema modifications, access control changes, and transaction control. It sits within Voltage DSP's Monitor pillar, working alongside the platform's Discover, Insight, Protect, and Govern pillars to form a data security posture management foundation that gives organizations a continuous view of where sensitive data lives and how it is being accessed. The module supports structured applications and databases including SQL and NoSQL systems, Oracle, Oracle eBusiness Suite, PeopleSoft, SAP, JD Edwards, and any JDBC-compliant data source, making it applicable across a wide range of enterprise application estates. Beyond flagging suspicious or policy-violating activity, OpenText positions the capability as a way to identify databases that are candidates for retirement, gain insight into which applications interact with sensitive data, prevent avoidable outages, and support IT modernization and green-IT initiatives by reducing the footprint of systems that need to be maintained. Delivered on cloud-first, shared infrastructure, the module is available as SaaS or in a private cloud deployment. One telecom operator using it reported improved protection against cyberattacks while cutting total cost of ownership by 50%.
